My Dad's here after a couple of hospital stays and discharges. After a week, the issues with end of life can be very limiting and confining for family. The staff have been friendly, helpful and most of all, professional. That assists us in navigating this unfamiliar path and for dad helps mitigate the lack of privacy and exposed dignity. For Mom, a mandarin Chinese speaker the Chinese team here have been invaluable in helping her understand the English being bandied about by the staff, from doctors, to therapists, to nurses, care staff, and technical departments. For me as a native English speaker I'm not burdened with the additional task of translation for Mom. I saw the ratings in June 2022 and thought with the distribution that it was a realistic picture of a highly emotionally charged environment. Rehab and skilled nursing isn't a finely tuned scenario with so many different patients and an infinite set of various needs to be met. No one facility can meet everyone's needs at 100% everytime there is a demand. But, the people here try the best they can.

I have to say the positive first. My great grandmother loves the food and I examined her and was happy to see she had no bruising on her body. Negatives… my grandmothers clothes were filthy and it was 11:50am. She was sitting in her wheel chair beside her bed with a curtain touching her (because the other patient wanted the curtain closed) but the curtains were filthy. It looks like it had bird feces on it. I asked the attendant when was the last time she was bathed and fed and no one gave me a answer. Every last woman working for this facility had a inexcusable attitude! Couldn’t answer simple question let alone get a hello when they walk in the room. It honestly breaks my heart. Her table she had to eat on was dusty and filthy. I had to wash her face and make sure she ate all her food. The table was wobbling so I had to hold it up. The elderly relies on us as human beings to care for them with love and compassion. My grandmother should be treated as if it were their personal loved one. I hated that I had to leave and have this burden left on my heart. I’d like to speak to someone in charge who can give me direct information when it comes to the care of my grandmother!

The place is not perfect no place is it is also advisable to check on how the care is going. But i will say there are staff there to correct any problems. But the person i found most helpful was Carmille she stays right on top of things. I do believe that it is the responsibilty of family members to speak up of any problems but i also know its the families job to that in any nursing/ rehab place.
