Erin at the front desk has amazing customer service skills. She made our one night stay super amazing. We came from alpharetta Ga for the weekend to see a client here. She made the process super easy, smooth and friendly. I wish everyone knew how to be a true director of first impressions at the front desk. Thanks Erin. You will go far with such basic skills in action. Amber & Aamir

Absolutely love States bro for one , and for 2 I absolutely love this hotel! It's all about the staff! Definitely cooler than most holiday inns I've stayed at. Bartender is so nice! this place has such a nice bar so clean so clean.

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately the bathroom was definitely showing signs of age. Also, although the website states that their restaurant is open, and that is exactly why I chose that location, the fact is the restaurant was not open for dinner at all. Breakfast was good, and the bar did open from 5:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. However, I was far more interested in food than alcohol.

I know Covid hit the hospitality industry pretty hard, but this property goes way beyond that. Examples of the poor management are seen throughout the experience from before you even walk in the door. Overflowing trash cans meet you at the entrance and only continued to overflow more throughout my stay. The staff charged my card on file early in the morning of my check-in date, long before I'd actually arrived to check-in, so when I got there I thought getting my key would be quick and easy. When I finally found a desk attendant they had trouble finding my reservation and had to make the keys up while I waited. The hotel was pretty full, and rooms options were limited, so I took a king with a sleeper-sofa as I had my wife and kids with me, which was noted on my reservation. The linen bag in my room contained only bare pillows. No sheets, blankets or pillow cases for the sleeper sofa. I called the front desk and was told I could come down to get them at anytime. By the time I finally got settled in and ready to take my shower for the night, I discovered the shower handle popped off in my hand. I was able to get the water on with some wiggling to find a spot the handle would engage, but the shower head was so heavily mineral-ladden that the few holes allowing water through shot like needles hitting the skin. At least my kids were able to take baths, though the tub didn't seal completely and I had to refill it a few times along the way to keep enough water in it. The on-site gym should have been a respite of everything else wrong with the place, but the troubles followed me there as well. First, the sani-wipes were completely dried out and there was nothing suitable to clean the equipment with. The front desk said she'd make a note of it but made no effort to remedy the issue while I was there. When I decided to go ahead and finish my workout on the bike I discovered the pedals had been installed at 90 degrees to one another instead of 180, which made it impossible to use. The medicine ball was only half inflated, which was also impossible to use properly. Regardless, another needle-spray shower awaited me afterwards. On to breakfast. This hotel does not have a complimentary breakfast, you either pay for a food voucher to run through their buffet, or pay at your table for menu items. The buffet was completely out of bacon by 8am and the only person working the kitchen was doing his best to mix up some flour and milk to slap some more inedible gravy soup in the steam trays for those bold patrons really committed to their biscuit and gravy. In the end my voucher was used for some prepackaged muffins and I fed my kids at McDonalds on our way out the first morning. Even after mentioning the issues with my room, breakfast, and the fitness center, day two of my stay was no better, and the pile of trash out front only grew while the staff continued to "make a note" of the issues offering no attempt to correct the failures, nor even apologize for the inconveniences. I've been a long-time IHG supporter and stay at Holiday Inn's on most of my travels. The next time I'm in Statesboro I'll more likely stay at a roadside motel then pay to stay at a property this poorly managed. The plethora of issues here is not a simple mistake by a desk worker, but can only be the result of a work culture driven from the top. I'll continue with IHG in other cities, but no longer in Statesboro. This hotel is a far cry from what is to be expected by this brand and I hope in the near future someone comes in to get this place back up to standards.
