You have to wait 8 weeks to allow your red blood cell count to return to normal.
I am anemic myself and have to take iron pills, vitamin C everyday and eat foods with iron in them to keep my iron up. Your iron level needs to be between 38/54 to be able to donate. Took me a bit to get it up but able to donate now that I have control of my iron levels. My favorite food source for iron is Campbell's Chunky Soups.
As a new donor, I would call and ask, but the last promotion I had heard was 1000 in a month, and I think 100 the first day. After the new donor promotion, however. It goes based on height and weight, and donor frequency. I would call about that as well, to get the specifics based on your size.
I just called and asked, you have to live within 100 miles of there, and it has to be a private residence.
No they don't. I tried
Yes, it's open nearly everyday fro. 7am to 7pm (some holidays have lesser hours, and a couple holidays they are closed)
You don't pay to donate, you get paid to donate. It depend on your weight, and there is always a new donor bonus going on. Feel free to stop in, but bring your social security card and photo ID, and a piece of current mail if the address on your ID isn't current.
You might wanna call them for that
Octapharma employees don't answer (and probably don't read) these questions, you'd be better off calling or going in to ask.
The first time takes about three hours. Paperwork and physical. After that it takes an hour to an hour and a half cuz you still have tests
Nope!
No
75 your first donation, the next 3 are 50, and your 5th is 75 again. After that it's based on body weight
Yes, they are.
