The Wild Animal Sanctuary was awesome. We had a really good time. It's great how everything they do is centered around making the animals comfortable and healthy. We spent more time on the walk than we planned because we spent so much time enjoying watching the animals. Definitely worth the drive and the walk. The indoor entrance has plenty of bathrooms and a great little cafe, gift shop and ice cream shop. All of these areas are clean and inviting. Going in mid May the weather was perfect. The visit was worth the $50 day pass and I would gladly come again.

We went this mother's Day to the Wild Animal Sanctuary with our whole family (mom's get in free that day). Typically prepare for a $50 "donation" to enter, but after seeing everything they do for these creatures, it feels well worth it. Know that you will likely be in the wind and sun all day as you walk along the boardwalks, but the surrounding area is beautiful and you truly get to see big animals enjoying their surroundings. We saw so many different creatures playing and interacting in ways you never see at the zoo. I highly recommend checking this place out at some point 🙂

This is an amazing sanctuary doing so much good for animals! Also a great way to see impressive animals up close. It's worth taking a few hours to walk and listen to the stories and talk to the volunteers! Thanks for rescuing and taking care of animals that came from such bad situations.

We took our kids there and had a great time! I was unsure what to expect but it was incredible. My 17 year old and 11 year old both had a super fun time! We easily saw MANY beautiful and fun exotic animals from the safety of the walkway and yet the animals were roaming freely and safely in habitats that allow them significantly healthier and freer than what I’ve seen at zoos. Rescued tigers, foxes, bobcats, lions, bears, ostriches, emus, wolves, lynxes, and more. It’s a drive to get there but worth it! Plan to do a lot of walking. But the time flew by and before we knew it we had easily spent over two hours enjoying the park. We had good luck with the weather. Might be less enjoyable on really hot or really cold days because you’re outside, exposed to the elements most of the time. They said mornings are the best because the animals are usually more active. That definitely seemed the case for us. By the time we left around lunch, many of the animals were napping in the sun. It’s not inexpensive ($50/adult) but seems like a great cause and was worth it for us to see so many awesome animals rescued and taken care of.

I was also saddened by what looks like neurotic behavior in this tiger, (Denver Aquarium, 3/23/19) which constantly paces in exactly the same manner all day long. It looks thin, anxious, glazed-over) I have seen well-appointed tiger enclosures in many zoos across the US and this behavior is not typical. May I point you towards the Cincinnati zoo, Tulsa zoo, San Diego zoo tiger exhibits? The one at the Denver aquarium lives a hellish life.
Adults are 30.00, kids under 12 are 15.00 They ask for a donation as well, as there is no public funding. We did not object, and donated .
I'm glad Walmart donates meat. That's awesome! Go to the website and click on the contact us link and the outreach people can give you the latest info. Good luck and hope you can visit.
Agree with Simon Easter. Take your time and observe the animals' behaviour. You could spend all day there. Enjoy it.
Yes. The website has bios on each big cat. Sponsor two
Best deal is to donate $200. Then you have a year pass and can bring up to 5 people with you each time
It is pretty high, whatever you do take your time so you can see the variety of animals they have as well as the dogs they have. It was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. Definitely will go back and bring binoculars this time..
The whole point of this place is to let them lead as close to a normal wild life as possible in captivity and that doesn't include close contact
The sanctuary’s website has a page on volunteering and forms to download.
