Started out great, took the boat out of water and said they would let me know in a few days what was wrong. After $12,000 in charges and a month of time, it was a disaster and I would never recommend them. Did the wrong work, left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, I had to go over there several times because nobody would my turn my calls. Even after paying all that money, they put the boat in the water, tell me to come get it and the battery is dead when I get there. Then it takes them 4 days to call me back and charged me another $1,100. Just truly unbelievable. Don't use them - EVER!!!

Nice location with great docks, and a great staff. The best yard in the area.

We ran into trouble in the Bahamas and found no yards in the Lauderdale-Ft. Pierce area were available to help us with fiberglass repairs. We recalled a very positive description of SLBW from friends on a sister boat so we called and they said "Sure, we can do that, get you hauled as soon as you can get here". We we trundled up the ICW and they pulled us within minutes of pulling into their well. The yard manager personally oversaw the majority of the work, their in-house guys for mechanicals/plumbing and finish work were superb. For engine work, SLBW had two local Volvo specialists on tap and the first one to show up was excellent, not familiar with our saildrives but he and I worked through it, and his mechanic's insights were key to success. The only issue we experienced was figuring out how to manage the overall program. Every boat yard operates slightly differently, some are 100% closed yards, some are 100% DIY, SLBW is somewhere in between. In the end, I made sure to stay in daily contact with the yard manager, the yard administrator, and the individual specialists doing the work just to make sure that each task was proceeding, no problems had cropped up, that parts were underway, etc. Left to their own devices, these issues would have eventually been taken care of, but we were in a hurry, so the extra oversight on my part and the general managers helped prevent communication gaps and keep the work moving quickly. The well can be a bit tricky, current is swift and well is across the current. The yard is great at working you into it, but aim for slack if at all possible. In the end, the work was excellent and timely, the cost not ureasonable, and the staff wonderful to work with. We'd highly recommend them.

How does the company justify CHARGING FOR SUPPLIES that are NOT USED and NOT REINSTALLING things like strainers that protect the engine after THEY take them off? What else did they NOT DO THAT MAY CAUSE DAMAGE? I feel MANIPULATED AND FLEECED.
