Homestead By The River Family Campground

Although we only stayed for 2 nights, this is a great campground. It's peaceful and quiet. The site we had is wooded. The campground is right on the Saco River and very close to Old Orchard Beach. I definitely recommend.

09/2020 - Homestead by the river is a GEM. Beautifully groomed campground with large campsites. The beach area is a bit small but its only for having to get your float into the Saco river to float down stream. Ruth King is a wonderful friendly and accommodating owner from England who is very informative regarding her property that she has owned for 22 years. The campground has lots to offer if you have children, including a playground. The grounds are beautiful for long walks. There are animals (horses, sheep, chickens, turkeys etc.). Everyone camping were very friendly and eager to start chatting or sitting by the fire. A must return on our list when the weather will be warmer. If you are looking to add a new campground to your list, this is a MUST add. Thank you Ruth for your warm, friendly chats. And if you could please let me know what the name of the nut again?
