Eastern Slope Camping Area

Decided to camp by myself this time around so I picked a ESC because I know I can rely on it being a safe, clean campground. The neigbors are always friendly, the price was more than reasonable for 3 nights and the campground is so close to everything! Hopefully the weather won't be so scorching hot next time.

Very nice staff, but the entire campground is outdated. The picnic tables are old and warped. The place has generally 'run down' look. There is a dump station but it has warning signs not to open black tank valves all the way and they do NOT allow black tank rinse/flush at the station. They have even 'altered' the hose connector at the station to make it impossible to use your own hose for quick tank rinsing. There is only one main entrance/exit gate and it is one vehicle wide. Makes it hard to get in and out during busy times, check in / check out, etc. There is a very small pool and playground. I imagine the draw for people would be the access to two beaches directly on the Saco river. One beach allows dogs. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful with allowing a late check out and the fee was very reasonable.

Excellent beaches, clean and open campus, friendly staff. We've started a family tradition, making a week here with extended family a main summer vacation stop. It's so close to everything! We love it

Stayed there and got flooded out and had to leave at 930 at night. We ended up staying in the home depot parking lot till 4 or 5 (pm) the next day with No Compensation that was one incident, this year we had to cancel and we gave them a 6Month notice and they charged me a $200.00 cancelation fee. TOTAL RIP OFF. They are a bunch of THIEFS.
