I came here in 2015, relapsed because I wasn't ready. I came back 8 months later, and they made me feel like a human again. The staff, the activities, the meetings, the insistence that nothing is more important than my sobriety saved my life. Since 2016, I have been sober and I've watched my life explode in the most magical way possible. This is my home, my foundation, and I am forever grateful for what y'all gave me.

I recieved treatment at hope house Feb-March 2021 and I am currently 430 days sober (I am 31 and suffered from alcohol abuse since 2010). This was the second rehab i recieved treatment at (first in 2015) and by far the best experience I've had. They not only focus on your substance abuse but have classes centered around mental health, traumas and triggers, brain science, and spirituality. The counselors there are patient and kind, you can tell they genuinely care about your well-being. Hope house helped me to not only become sober but deeply figure myself out. As long as your are willing and open minded, this program will definitely benefit you in the long run.

Hi, Crystal! We do accept Maryland Medicaid.
Hello, Nancy! We do not currently have visiting hours due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Hello, Marvin! Yes, we can provide assistance with aftercare placement.
When I was there we used a landlines on weekends. Cell phones were not allowed. This was last year this time. I would call the main number and ask to be transferred to the nurse and let them know you are a family member and its urgent. They may let you speak to them or have you leave a message.
Hello, Phebe! Unfortunately, we do not currently accept Kaiser Permanente. We accept Aetna, Beacon Health Options, Carefirst, Cigna, Johns Hopkins EHP, UnitedHealthcare and US Family Health Plan. We also accept Maryland Medicaid, self-pay and Value Options private.
Hello, Phebe! We encourage all of our incoming patients to have someone bring them to our facilities on admission day. Also, our inpatient programs vary depending on each individual's needs, but the average length of stay is 30 days.
Yes! To enroll in our detox program, please give us a call at 410-923-6700, M-F 8am-4:30pm.
Good afternoon, Kellie! Our Admission Coordinators are available from 8am until 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. If our staff is unable to answer a live call, they will respond to all voicemails in the Admissions voicemail box as soon as possible - or the next morning if a message is left after operating hours. Please give us another call at 410-923-6700 (Crownsville) or 301-490-5551 (Laurel) and select Option 3 on either of those main lines to be directed to our Admissions Team. Thank you!
Hi there, Chris! Our inpatient program is typically 28-30 days, but does vary based on each individual's needs.
There are no bus stops in our immediate area. For public transportation, the closest option would be MTA Commuter Bus to Annapolis via bus routes 210, 215, 220 or 230; or Greyhound/Megabus to the Harry S. Truman Park and Ride - but both options would then require a car service (cab, Uber, etc.) to reach our campus. For more information on the MTA routes that service Annapolis, please visit: https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule?type=commuter-bus.
Good afternoon, Michelle! Cell phones are not permitted, but patients do have access to phones within the facility. Upon admission, all patients are subject to a 4-day phone black-out. This simply means that within the first four (4) days of treatment, they will not be allowed to make phone calls unless it is approved by and with their assigned counselor. After the initial 4-day black-out, the patient will be allowed one 10 minute phone call per weekday and two 10 minute phone calls a day on the weekends.
We do accept former patients. Please contact us on Monday at 410-923-6700 (Crownsville) or 301-490-5551 (Laurel) to start the admissions process.
We do offer assistance with aftercare placement.
Thank you for the inquiry, Jacob. We do offer non-hospital detoxification hospital services for patients requiring medical support for the management of withdrawal symptoms during the earliest phase of treatment. For more information, please call us M-F 8-4:30pm at 410-923-6700 (Crownsville) or 410-923-6700 (Laurel).
It depends on the individual. For more information, please call us at 410-923-6700 (Crownsville) or 301-490-5551 (Laurel).

Methadone treatment is individualized in terms of how long someone stays in the program. We will detox off of Methadone if that is what the client desires.
It's one hour but that is after you take a new visitors class which takes at least an hour
Hi there, Robin! Visitation hours are every Saturday afternoon from 1-3pm. Guests are limited to three (3) family members or friends per week. Your patient's counselor will ask for his/her list of visitors on Friday afternoon. Your name must be on the visitation list in order to participate. Visitation is not permitted during the first week of treatment or if the patient is still on detox. Additionally, Hope House requires all visitors to participate in a mandatory educational presentation beginning at 1pm; visitation with your loved one follows at 2pm. For more information, please visit http://hopehousemd.org/visiting.
