I try to avoid this location like the plague, but usually have to come here because no one else stocks all the unique items that they do: pickup trucks, open trailers, car dollies, etc. I now plan that I need to waste 2-3 hours whenever I go there. Sometimes, I am pleasantly surprised, but most often I am correct. The employees are generally not "lazy" but the company service culture is definitely more like the DMV than Chick-Fil-A. And why not, I guess? Where else can you go but U-Haul? It's not like Amazon Prime is renting trucks!!!

Terrible customer service. I accompanied a female friend to the Palm Bay U-Haul to have a trailer hitch installed on her SUV. She was told at the time of scheduling the appointment that she needed to get there at 9 and the install would take 2 hours. We got there a bit before 9 and they took her keys. The employee again stated 2 hours. We told them we were going to walk to a breakfast diner down the road. We got back to U-Haul at 11:30 and the installer hadn't even started installing the trailer hitch. The vehicle was in the service bay and on the lift, but no work was done. No employees were in the service department. We went up to the front counter and waited in the line of customers. An employee, Juan, told us that they just started on the install and it would be yet another two hours. They finally got it done at 1:30 in the afternoon. We wasted the better part of the day at that U-Haul. Juan was very rude and nasty during our interactions with him. At one time Juan got so close to my friend (she's 5 foot tall) that I thought he was going to push her. The manager, Heather Martin, had an even bigger attitude! It was like she didn't care that we were there for 4 1/2 hours. She offered a measly 10% discount off the $500 bill, but then refused to give the discount at checkout. It has been a long time since I have been treated that poorly at a business. What a stressful day and a ridiculous waste of time. The employees at Palm Bay U-Haul need to learn how to treat customers and how to schedule service work. But based upon the other reviews, it seems like we are not the only upset customers!
