Great selection and great prices! The produce has really improved over the years, too. Hands down it is my favorite place to shop!

Phil Woodman is an awful, small minded little man who treats his employees like junk despite appearances otherwise. That being said, the prices, selection, and overall feeling of his stores are something else, and something good at that. While I refuse to give him my money on principle, you can do a lot worse than this store. Clean, Lively, well priced and fully stocked.

I've been shopping here as long as I can remember. We moved to Madison in 1989 and have been shopping here since. I was 7 at that time. The selection is great, they carry things smaller stores don't, and prices are generally lower than all other stores. Most employees are helpful, although I rarely need help with anything. Even after they remodeled recently, I still pretty much memorized where things are. And when I'm not sure, I just open the app and search. The app tells me the aisle and I find it myself. Voila! I'd like to add that I'm providing a 5 star rating based on 30+ years of shopping here. Not every employee has been friendly, especially overnight (I often shop at 1-3am as I work late nearby). Also, my cognitively challenged brother and I came here once a few years ago, I believe in the afternoon, and he was traumatized a bit. I wasn't because I knew we did nothing wrong. We entered the store, stopping in the bathroom first. Then we went and got whatever we got that day. On our way out, we were stopped by 3, yes THREE managers putting on a power trip, accusing us of making a huge mess in the bathroom with whipped cream. My brother got scared but I stood in front of him, reassured him several times that we're fine, and I did all the talking. I explained everything I already wrote here, adding that we were never in the dairy section and even if we had been, we went to the bathroom FIRST, before going into the store (bathrooms are in the front, near both main entrances). I also said we didn't bring anything in. I know they have cameras and before I could bring it up, one of them said they were going to watch them. I said please do, in fact offering to stay and watch with them. I was calm but very firm because I didn't appreciate false accusations. I hated even more that it was stressing my brother. We are grown adults who have no interest in childish pranks, or more accurately, vandalism. Being falsely accused instead of questioned was ludicrous. I understand they are humans though, and humans make mistakes. I'm not even sure if any of them remember but I sure do, every single time I see the one manager in particular. I forgot what the other 2 even look like. Anyway, in the end, they said they were going to check the cameras and if they could prove we did it we would be banned from the store officially next time we were seen. And that was it. My brother and I were on our way, adrenaline pumping. The next few times I went to the store, I got dirty looks from at least one manager, probably because he didn't appreciate being wrong, and proven so by the very method he was determined to use to ban my brother and me. Since it's been 2-4 years now, I don't even know if the other 2 are still there. I'm not naming or describing the one I know is still there because he's been genuinely nice and at least once he was helpful with self checkout. I honestly don't think he even remembers that incident, but he sees me there quite frequently, or at least I see him... I just felt the need to share that unfortunate story. The point I want readers to take away is 2 parts. First, people, even good hearted people, make mistakes. Second, forgiveness is powerful. I could have chosen to either go to a different location or even stop shopping at any of their locations. But that wouldn't accomplish anything. Despite the amount of money I spend there, losing me as a customer wouldn't have even touched their bottom line. It would have forced me to pay more money at a different store. Boycotting the store would have only affected me, not them. Besides, they're also open 24 hours and they're the only store that is, besides some gas stations. Even Walmart refuses to open 24 hours again... If you made it this far, congratulations! This is a longer than normal review. I commend you and thank you for taking the time to read it. I hope you enjoy your Woodman's experience and have a fantastic day!!! 🙂🙂🙂

Excellent pricing and selections for allergy/dietary and cultural foods. Staff is typically brisk, but not bad... Today though, Ms Nancy on self checkout had quite a power trip. A mom juggling a fussy kid doesn't need extra sass, especially from a grocery store employee trying to prove some point to a person who loaded their twelve packs in the cart "BEFORE PAYING" 🙄🙄🙄

Apples, peaches, kale, fava beans, broccoli, blackberries, grapes
Why is this place so close to our friends in West Madison of tiny suburbs within Middleton
Yes they have that and other brands as well
They had the renewal machine by the doors between the main entrance and liquor store another place that has it is walgreens on corner of maple grove rd and mckee rd
Yup, we certainly do :) https://shopwoodmans.com/madison#/search?q=cauliflower%20rice&
Yes, you can. Be aware, though, that if you select an item that is out of stock, they may replace it with a higher price item, unless you specifically indicate you don't want them to do so. Also, pay attention to the weights on certain items, as size is difficult to judge by photos alone. (I once bought a bottle of ketchup at what I thought was a good price, only to find it was a very small bottle after pickup.)
Varys from time to time you would have to ask a clerk or stocker.
Obviously this price fluctuates, but it's cheaper than most places I've been to
Yes
Currently we accept Discover credit cards, debit cards, cash, check, EBT and WIC. Limiting the quantity of credit cards accepted helps us maintain a lower fee structure, which allows us to better pass along savings to you - our customer!
As long as we have a large enough supply to pack customers' purchases, we will give away some boxes. Please just ask before taking. Thank you!
I think they're all open 24 hours.
Always. .
Anywhere from 80 cents to $4 depending on the kind you get.
Joanne, I just visited ShopWoodmans.com and searched for that item, and it does appear available via the service. Not sure if the link below will work or not (as I was logged into my account), but I have pasted it anyway :) Have a great rest of your week. Sincerely, Woodman's Food Market. https://shopwoodmans.com/madison#/search?q=feline%20pine%20clumping&
For ice they do.
We currently have 19 stores, located in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.
Woodman's always has a fantastic selection of everything, call them, ask. Or just go there and look around you'll love it
The website suggests that they do. You can order for pick up online or if they are out when you go in you can ask them to special order it.
I don't know. You can look on their website or call.
May be u can try
If you can't find the liquor you want here, you're either the 1% or just lazy to look. They have a large collection of all major liquor brands, and at a great price (cheapest in the area).
Woodman's has a large selection of Indian food items; rice, dal, pickles, etc. There are two separate Indian grocery stores very close to Woodman's. One called 'India House' is in the Woodman's parking lot. The other is called Bombay Bazaar. One of the Indian groceries might have chaini khaini, but I'm sure Woodman's does not.
I believe only if it's something that they normally have.
Sorry I don't work for them
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. are legal selling hours in Madison WI
Probably but this is not best place to ask i would give the store a Call or go in
No. Groceries discounts u get per coupon which they keep at store whether or not u buy gas
Not sure about the dark beer I would call the liquor store and ask
