A local place, only one in town we could find open for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We are not local. Food was good, service was friendly, bathroom was clean. No complaints. Very nice atmosphere.

WE LOVE COAL OIL JOHNNY'S We have always had wonderful food and friendly service. We live an hour away and would make special trips just to eat there. We have recommended many times to friends and coworkers. UNTIL TODAY! We were treated like we slaughtered a litter of puppies in the dining room! Our waitress was initially friendly and suddenly her demeanor changed and she became very rude. Our food came out burned. All of it. Bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Our waitress would not interact with us after slamming our food down until she tossed the check on the table without saying a word. We saw several of the staff peaking out of the kitchen at us. The girl that cashed us out was very rude to us. Even the lady writing on the specials board gave us dirty looks as she was putting up the specials. I don't know what we could have done to deserve the treatment we received. I don't know if we were confused with someone else or they chose us to be rude to. We have never been this disrespected at a restaurant. We will not return. I am saddened by this because we have enjoyed going to Coal OIL Johnny's. We have been there 30-40 times in the past couple of years and will not be going back. Everything that happened seemed very intentional and should not happen to anyone. My wife even felt the need to call and speak with the owner. We don't leave bad reviews. But this was extreme. DINERS BEWARE!

First time here. I always like to find the smaller local restaurants when stopping to eat. Small cozy restaurant. Was a little taken back when I looked at the prices on the menu. Took a bit to be waited on but I’m not going to complain about that, the poor woman was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Very friendly staff! The meal was very nice. Was able to substitute corned beef hash with my omelette instead of the toast and home fries. Don’t let the menu prices scare you by no means. Paid less than $10 for my meal with the accommodations. Will definitely stop here again when I’m in the area. Thank you for the wonderful visit to the area!
