I was summoned to serve for the grand jury. I, however was not selected but was a great experience. The travel from Modesto to Fresno and back was not fun but the selection process was. When entering such building, it gives you a feel of being in another world entirely. The security where really agents, suited and all. Once again, a pleasant and professional experience.

The Grand Jury, typically meets on Thursdays. Usually 8am to whenever they are done. Sometimes prior to lunch, sometimes later
Yes, but it's very difficult. It really depends on if the U.S. Attorney is still around or not.
