What a great place to stay in Hannibal. Off the beaten path and on gorgeous property, the mansion itself is beautiful and run by amazing people. My wife and I had a great time. Mary does a fantastic job at making you feel welcome from the second you walk through the door. The rooms themselves are nice, and there's history everywhere you walk in the mansion. Nice grounds, nice people, great food. We'd definitely stay there again!

The mansion is gorgeous! Inside and out. Our room was cozy and clean. The mattress was hard and somewhat uncomfortable. The inn keeper was attentive and kind. Breakfast was good. It wasn't super fancy. Fruit, muffin, and the first day we had an egg bake. The second day was a French toast bake. You could get something comparable at IHOP. I did order a cake, and that was really great. Homemade chocolate with strawberries. Hannibal is a nice little town with a little downtown area great for roaming. Other larger cities are nearby for more fun. Check out the nearby wineries!

We cannot say enough great things about the hospitality, delicious breakfast and attention to details at this place. The owners from the past 15 years as well as the Garth family would be proud of the integrity, traditions and overall maintenance of this home! We will be back! To the new owners, we thank you and your sweet Natalie for making this he best trip we have had in years!

We stayed in the Dowager Cottage which was magnificent! The artifacts in the Garth Mansion and stories of Samuel L. Clemens stays there were very interesting. Lot's of history to take in. The mansion is essentially a museum of 19th century artifacts. Mary, the Innkeeper, was awesome and made sure our stay was perfect right down to the delicious breakfast that was made to accommodate my wife's food allergy.

Yes we have been there with 3 other couples but if you want privacy that is there too!!
There are several to choose and of course we are able to customize anything. With a full liquor license we have a plethora of wine and spirits.
One of the cabins is wheelchair accessible, and has a extra large lavatory to accommodate them as well.
Cordelia, you are more welcome to stay a little longer after you check out, as long as there is nobody checking into that room or cottage that same day. Our housekeepers do need some good time to clean the room for our next guests. So we would let you know the night before if it would be possible. And since our business is a way of life and enjoying our guests we do not charge for a late check out.
We specifically made our cottages puppy friendly. As long as you keep them on the leash so they don’t freak out are llamas and alpacas. We have custom-made doggy bowls and dog biscuits. There is just a small fee for the little ones we have custom-made doggy bowls and dog biscuits. There is just a small fee for them.
Most of the time our guests prefer two to three nights overnight , but if we have an opening in the middle of others we sure would invite you to stay. But realize, there is plenty to do so you might have to get up early to catch a good portion of it.
