Kim has done my makeup on quite a few occasions and her work is always flawless. Most recently, she did my makeup for my wedding day back in June and it was perfect. The way she applies face makeup (which I have always had an aversion to) made it feel like I had little to nothing on so for me it was very comfortable. Kim does a great job making your skin look amazing and somehow manages to make her work last so long! After my ceremony in 90+ degree heat, my husband and I went to do sunset photos hours later and I had asked my photographer to fix any makeup that may have gotten smeared/messed up and her comment was "wow, it still looks perfect" so to me that was a huge testament to Kim's work. I'd recommend Kim to anyone in need of makeup services!

In a sea of wedding vendors, it can be overwhelming to find someone who will not only make your vision come true, but be an absolute pleasure to work with - Kim is one of those gems! I highly recommend working with her if you have the chance. She did my wedding hair & makeup and trial, along with the makeup for my 3 MOH/Bridesmaids. She was very accommodating when scheduling my hair and makeup trial, even meeting me at my office on a Friday despite it being a few hours out of her way. During the trial she asked me questions about my skin and beauty routine before giving me samples and recommendations on how to best take care of my skin during the 6 weeks leading up to my wedding. She listened thoughtfully as I described the hair & makeup styles that I had envisioned - a natural face that made my eyes pop & a partially up hairstyle. While she did my makeup we bonded over our shared passion for early childhood education and of course talked all things weddings, the time flew by! When she finished up we discussed some of the things I loved, and some things I didn't like as much as I expected to. She took these notes and ended up even buying a few specific pieces of makeup to use on me - the final result the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect!! I'm so glad we did the trial, it allowed me to learn exactly what I wanted, while also giving Kim & I time to get to know each other better before the wedding day. After all, she spent the full morning in the bridal suite with us, so it was important to me that we genuinely enjoyed each others company! She was so easy to get along with, my mother, sisters, and friends all loved having her with us. Finally, knowing that I tend to run sweaty & it was going to be a gorgeous day out, Kim thought ahead to put extra setting spray on my makeup, and hair spray - especially important for boogying on the dance floor! This extra thought allowed for my hair & makeup to look great all through the night - the photos are proof! Thank you so much for making my big day so special, Kim.

I was worried about having my makeup look too “cakey” and Kim did a great job helping me look natural. I also really appreciated her magic in getting my mascara not to run, even on my outdoor wedding day which had a high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit! I recommend doing a preview if you can, so that you don’t have to worry on your special day. Even though having a professional do your makeup is more expensive than having your friends do it, it pays to hire a pro so you can relax and feel your best. She did a great job with my hair, too.

Kim is a wonderful make-up artist. I booked her months in advance and from a different state. After moving, my skin was having a difficult time adjusting, but Kim gave me skin care recommendations that helped correct my problems. She was flexible with my tough travel schedule coming from out of state and accommodated me several times. Wedding morning she helped me stay cool, calm, and collected amidst the chaos of the day. I appreciate her and her team making me and my bridesmaids feel our absolute best! I can't recommend her enough!

Previews are best done 2-6 weeks prior to the wedding day. The longer away from the wedding, the more opportunity for unnecessary second guessing. We work with out of town brides to find the most convenient time for you to book.
A preview usually consists of trying one desired look or style and a variation of that. If a completely different style/look is desired beyond that, we suggest booking another preview.
Previews are typically 60-120 minutes long and include a personalized consultation with your artist(s). We are customizing your entire look.
Yes. We call this a preview and is intended to find your dream wedding day look through trial, error and communication after your preview. A big part of creating your perfect look is by wearing it all day after the preview. We also recommend wearing a similar neckline and color as your wedding attire. BONUS: book your fitting the same day as your preview!

Absolutely! This would be considered an interview and not a preview as we would still do a preview closer to your wedding day. The fee to do so is $250/service. Makeup OR hair = $250. Makeup AND hair = $500. +travel when applicable.

We can’t hold a date without a contract and deposit. The sooner you know your date, the better. Once you have secured a venue and date, we advise that you should book hair and makeup right after. We get bookings 8-12 months in advance and don't want you to miss out.
Yes, we don’t require you to book our team for all services. However, we prefer not to work with other hair and makeup vendors if at all possible. We want your look to be cohesive and consistent with the rest of your bridal party for photographs and coordinating can provide some challenges.
The minimum is the rate for bridal and to-be-wed makeup and hair.
Yes, there is a $1200 minimum Friday-Sunday. And $2400 for holiday weekends.
All contracts and payments are done online for your convince and security.
Of course! We work with a lot of clients from outside of the California Bay Area area and even abroad. Everything can easily be done via email, phone, or Zoom. And we will coordinate your preview based on your availability.

Yes, we charge a travel fee of $1 per mile for each artist for all locations.

No, however, there is still a minimum of $1200 that has to be met. This is equivalent for 4 people receiving both hair and makeup or 8 people receiving 1 service each. And an admin fee of $240 for coordination, communication and timeline creation.
The bridal and to-be-wed price includes the preview, day of services and administrative work associated with weddings. It is so much more than just showing up, doing makeup + hair, and leaving. We genuinely care about your experience from the moment you inquire. We want to provide top-notch service for each person. This requires a lot of time and effort. The simple answer is yes. However, blemishes are often raised skin, and raised skin texture can still be noticeable even with coverage. We can take out the redness and discoloration, but we can’t really “flatten” or change the texture of the skin.
Absolutely! All of our makeup artists are professionally trained and have a makeup kit that can be used on every skin tone. We take this very seriously. We will never tell you to bring your own foundation (unless you have a specific allergy). We got you covered!
All previews are included in the wedding package for makeup and hair services. If you would like to book an appointment prior to booking your wedding contract, the fee is $250/service. Refunds are only ever issued if the artist has to cancel for any reason, cannot reschedule and cannot find a replacement.
All of our artists are professionally trained, licensed, and experienced artists. All artists on Kim Baker Beauty team have been handpicked by Kim personally.
The wedding party and attendee rate is already discounted. You can also receive $100 off your total package by booking within 2 days of receiving your proposal.
