The food was quite experimental but it only worked for about half of the meals. We first had the appetizers which I’d say were the culinary highlight. Three different ones that all turned out quite good. The entrees were quite underwhelming. The pasta menu was quite bland and flavourless and had a very unnatural red colour. The burger was alright even though I’m not a fan of the cheese they used on it, and it was also pretty empty and bland. The fries were burned and basically inedible. The scallops were over cooked and too salted. The chefs menu was a chicken with some sauce and risotto. That meal was quite good and had some interesting flavours. The desserts were excellent except for the lemon ice cream, which tasted more like an entree sauce. Service was pretty descent.

We had a horrific experience. We arrive 15 minutes late do to traffic from graduation. We sat down and we were greeted by the manager who immediately told us that we were late and we had to order immediately. A warm congratulations would have been in order and a friendly reminder that we only had 2 hours would have been appreciated. The manager most certainly needs to work on her business skills. Please think twice before visiting Hazelnut.

This was an awesome last minute rushed stop for my 12 year old and I. The staff perceived we were in a hurry, guided our menu selection to choose quick serves and served us in record time. Plus the food was delicious. I’ll be back when we are not in a hurry. Seems like a great atmosphere.
