This is a beautiful old brownstone building and the interior of the lobby and dinning area is very much in keeping with the era. The service was good and friendly making us feel at home from the outset. We were in the annex a couple of doors down from the main house. The room was clean and well presented but the bed really did not live up to expectations. The most uncomfortable night with little sleep. It was so bad my wife ended up sleeping on the floor.

The ambiance fit well with area exalent wood work threw out as well as some nice unique pices! Location across from. Washington park is amazing with many restaurants in area. Nice outdoor space set up in back with nice continental brekfast in morning. Staff super nice and helpfull and wife loved the deep soak tub. Only reason not 5 stars was little bit of hair on tub was clean just missed them. No elevator so if on 4th is a bit of a walk. Will definitely stay again.

Amazing stay! The bed was the comfiest coziest bed ever! The room was spacious and beautiful. The area was charming. The host was very welcoming and the kitchen was stocked with all kinds of goodies. We were able to go downstairs to help ourselves at any time.

Pleasantly surprised at how up to date the room and furnishings are. Often, with these older buildings, the cramped rooms and old plumbing is part of the "charm." Here, however, nothing felt old, but neither had things been modernized to late 20th century (other than the kitchen, of course). Off site secure parking is a bonus. Chuck was a gracious host, and did his best to make us feel welcome.
