Ok stop before Joshua Tree NP. It was a good stop to stretch the legs, but since it’s a fake town it wasn’t what we hoped for. It’s free to walk through. The general store was open- mostly had overpriced vintage (used) clothes. The film museum wasn’t open and there wasn’t any horse back riding opportunities- maybe bc it was a weekday. We ate at the restaurant attached. That had interesting decor and the food was decent.

Nice little old movie set town. Some small stores to sell souvenirs and clothing, the usual. Stopped at the Red Dog Saloon for a little refreshment and food. Brisket tacos were great. Went on a Sunday, not very packed. Hot, 98. Bring a hat and water. Fun just to check out about California's movie history of westerns.

Main Stree can be walked through, I believe, anytime. Pappy and Harriet's hours can be Googled. The rest of the attractions are probably on weekends.
