Our water heater broke down on Sunday morning and I called several folks around and Stephen's plumbing was the quickest to response. Ryan called me and helped to diagnose the problem over the phone. We determined it was faulty part and scheduled time to come over to resolve the issue. Ryan was extremely professional and helped to quickly solve the issue and get us up and running. Thank you guys.

I called multiple places for quotes on an outdoor gas hookup for a grill. Kevin came out to discuss the job and quote me. They were in line with everyone else and his quote was accurate. Chip ended up doing the job and it looks and works great. Love that Kevin is a local guy that went to Downers North. I believe his family has owned the business for a while. Typically I'm a DIYer when it comes to plumbing but if the job is beyond my expertise I wont hesitate to call these guys again.

I had a sewer issue that Stephens came out to look at. The plumber suggested a few options, but by the flow from the check valve everything was working fine the following morning. Didn't need the sewer cleaned after all and had the check valve cover replaced. Quick response, friendly, helpful, and reasonably priced for their time.

Questions & Answers

Why Does My Furnace Contain a Blower Fan?

Stephens Plumbing & Heating | Sep 30, 2021
Stephens Plumbing & Heating | Sep 30, 2021

When the blower fan in a gas furnace is activated, a supply of cold air is collected by each of the return vents in each area of your home. Next, the heat exchanger releases heat into the incoming cold air from the air ducts. The latest energy-efficient furnaces include variable or multi-speed blowers to improve the circulation of warm air in your house.

How Do the Heat Exchangers Help a Gas Furnace Operate?

Stephens Plumbing & Heating | Sep 30, 2021
Stephens Plumbing & Heating | Sep 30, 2021

The combustion process in a gas furnace occurs in a set of metal pipes called the heat exchanger. As the incoming cold air passes through the warm heat exchanger, the temperature of the air will increase. When the incoming air reaches a sufficient temperature, a blower will distribute the warm air to each area of your household through a network of air ducts.

What Are the Gas Burners Responsible For in a Furnace?

Gas burners are a set of chambers that are engineered to maintain the flames in a furnace. Once the temperature in your household becomes too low, a thermostat distributes a signal to open the gas valve. Next, a pilot light or ignition mechanism will create a reaction with the natural gas to produce flames. To enhance the efficiency of your furnace, it's important to get your gas burners inspected regularly.
