Sorry it's been 15 years or so since I have been to the shooting range, but I think I remember seeing steel colored casings among the brass but I couldn't tell you with 100% certainty. And if they used to allow steel or aluminum or both, things change they may not allow it now. I would call the staff is friendly and should be able to tell you a definitive answer. And if they don't, I'd try 5 star firearms. It's on the west side of of Sheridan road by 17th Street where the old roller rink was. Next to the bowling alley and the recycling center.

Not that I'm aware of. But they do allow some higher caliber hand guns. You can purchase an ever changing selection of used and new rifles there. I bet if you talked to them; they'd probably know of a good place to take your rifle. It's a family run business, and everyone you encounter is both friendly and knowledgeable.
