Very cool! Limited parking, like 2 spots so good luck. Totally worth it even if you gotta do some walking.

It was quiet and very pretty. The shade from the beautiful old oaks was wonderful at the height of our recent heat wave. Look out for the poison oak and mosquitoes though. Plenty of those little buggers around. The paintings were beautiful. I'm glad steps have been taken to protect them from vandals while still being open to the public. There's limited parking but we went on Labor Day and only saw a couple cars pass during the half hour we were there so probably not an issue.

A little disappointing. I will the say the absolute best part is the drive. It’s adventurous, challenging, exciting, and you feel like you could drive off the mountain at any moment. So if that’s for you, this is your drive! The “painted rocks” weren’t really painted and there is no where to stop or walk around. You are literally dancing on the edge of the mountain. The coolest part was finding the little hidden town that lives up by the park, really cool way to see people living life in a different style.

Really neat and easy detour if traveling on the 101. Road is very narrow and has a lot of sharp turns and grade changes - best done with a smaller vehicle. Park consists of a small cave and a sign about the Chumash people and what the paintings represent.

Take car the road is very narrow and it is very difficult and dangerous to turn back but it is worth to drive up the cave
On the top of Painted Cave Road there are hiking trails as well as at the top of East Camino Cielo Road.
