Yes they do still allow pets.
HD runs specials all the time on a variety of tools and home improvement, garden, etc too much to keep up with. What I have found to be especially helpful is signing up at dealnews.com, they will send you emails twice a day plus any other special items (books, electronics, etc) you might be interested to know are on sale from both online and local stores. Saved me $ on multiple occasions by alerting me to sales I otherwise would've missed, and it's free! You might give that a try, see if it's a help to you.
