After years trying to find the best surgeon for me, I met Dr. Gates on a recommendation, and after that meeting I scheduled the surgery, I'm very happy with my surgery and recovery. The office and Gail, the nurse practitioner are great with calling back and making sure all your questions are answered.

The front desk staff and the nurse Laura are great! So sweet, kind, warm and professional… Dr. Gates however leaves a lot to be desired. He is pessimistic, matter of fact and not emphatic borderline arrogant but that’s not even my major complaint. My issue with Dr. Gates was that he wanted to take the easy route with my situation. From my consultation, I left with the impression that he did not want to go with the time consuming route and didn’t want to do any intricate surgeries. He discussed in full details how hard it would be to resolve my health situation while still preserving my uterus. That is a huge red flag. I still would like to have children in the future and he made it seem as if that would be impossible. I had other consultations with regular gyno’s and they gave me more options than Dr. Gates. He’s supposed to be a specialist but is very narrow minded. He was my “second opinion” gyno oncologist, so I’m very happy that he is not my last resort. If you want a professional, kind, optimistic, empathetic and innovative doctor then Dr. Gates is NOT the doctor for you. By the way, he kept blinking his eyes really fast and hard, like he needed sleep or maybe something else and he looked very disheveled, dirty scrubs, and a hole on top of one of his shoes.

Great doctor for any women care need. Very efficient office and the staff was very pleasant to work with. I had surgery with Dr. Gates and the scheduler was very kind and informative as well as Dr. Gates who will sit with you until every question is answered. I highly recommend this doctor to any women needing this type of care. Very kind doctor with great bedside manor.
