Unfortunately we only had crown hospice for a short time for our mom before she passed but I can only describe them as angels magically coming into our lives and disappearing into the clouds. They all were wonderful and kept in contact with us every step of the way. If we had questions, I called and got answers. Mom was in an assisted living but they allowed them to assist her there. Our family will be forever grateful to them and their caring ways.

I don't know what I would have done without Hester. I was the caretaker for my beautiful brother n law,Jerry Byram. It was a very challenging time but the staff at Crown, especially Hester, made it so easy. I can't give them enough praise. I love the fact that they are christians and are willing to pray with you. That was a big comfort. I just love them and refer them to anyone in need.

Our mother was in the care of Crown Hospice. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use them long but they were Amazing and Awesome. From the nurses, aides, chaplain, social worker and equipment service. We are very blessed that they came into our family lives. We never had to worry about anything. Thank you Crown for Everything!! We appreciate everything you did for our family.

Hospice care may start after the patient is told that treatments can no longer cure their illness. In this case, hospice begins when the patient is told that they have six months or less to live. Crown Hospice of Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff always welcomes consultations with patients who are unsure if they qualify for hospice care. Many of our hospice patients and their families have said that they wish that their loved one would have started hospice care sooner because of the quality of life improvements that it provided. A patient can start hospice care with Crown Hospice at any time. We understand that admissions can happen outside of the traditional workweek, and we are happy to help accommodate. Visit our contact page (https://crownhospice.net/contact/) for more information on how to get in touch with us.

Hospice care is for anyone who has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, meaning their primary care physician or specialist has told them that aggressive treatments would no longer be effective in curing their illness. While traditionally for terminal cancer patients, hospice care is for any life-limiting illnesses and can include, but isn’t limited to: - Alzheimer’s - Heart Disease - Parkinson’s “Palliative care” is similar to hospice in that it helps patients manage the symptoms and effects of their illness, but it is care that is received during any stage of a patient’s treatment – typically when there are curative treatment options still available.
