We were recommended to go Akumin Coconut creek by our midwife and it was a terrible experience. We were excited to see if we were pregnant, the ultrasound tech did her best to take away any excitement we had to see our potential baby. We were told by the ultra sound tech named “La la” that my husband was “not needed” to come back with me during the ultra sound. When we insisted on staying together as we are married and have done this for our 2 other children she then told us it wasn’t an obgyn office and she “thinks it’s a Covid policy.” We asked to see the policy that doesn’t allow spouses and she failed to be able to provide one. When we repeatedly asked not to be separated she said, “sometimes if I’m feeling nice I’ll let the husband come in at the end.” The Ultra Sound tech also went to explain the situation her boss in the next room over and loudly said “These people, I’m ready to go home.” Then she came back to us and said, have you guys changed your mind yet? We could have already have been done with your ultrasound by now.” She was rude, immature, disrespectful, & unprofessional. I hope everyone reading this can avoid this place if possible. Especially if for a pregnancy ultrasound. If it wasn’t for this being the only ultrasound appointment opening, we would have left and ask for the full $150 refund.

No I am sorry you need an order from a Physician to have any scan done. You can self pay for it once you get a prescription, which helps you get what you want without going through insurance and requiring clinical/physical ailment documentation. I hope this helps answer your questions.
