I say with great admiration that David Templer has been my friend for over 30 years. Recently after getting hurt in an unfortunate accident my friend took on a new role in my life as my attorney. Without question I knew he would take great care of me and that my case was in the hands of an expert. With that said, he still exceeded my expectations. With his decades of experience, he knew what I deserved and what was fair. He stood with me and stood for me. I am truly grateful for David.

The best way to handle a hit and run is to be proactive. First, you should have Uninsured Motorist Coverage if a car hits you and runs away. Second, if you have a dash camera, you can get pictures of the vehicle during the hit and run. If the driver hits you and runs away, you can sue them for punitive damages. Once you are hit, you must call 911 and file a police report. Do not leave the scene of the accident, but make sure your vehicle is in a safe place. It is also important that you do not chase the Defendant and place yourself in further danger. Take pictures of the vehicles, scene, witnesses. Many times witnesses leave the scene before the police arrive, so get their information immediately. Seek medical care if you are injured and call an Attorney.
Fees charged by lawyers handling Personal Injury cases are regulated by The Florida Bar. Typical fees for pre-litigation claims are 33.3% of the recovery. Fees rise to 40% in the event of a contested lawsuit.
