Very good for the price, and I got the little kitchenette. It's nice to cook once in awhile when you travel. Walmart and Aldi's is nearby. Little bit sketchy traffic around, but they say all their cameras work. Excellent staff! I'll stay here again.

We stayed at this Econolodge twice (two nights each time), in two different rooms, two weeks apart, and had two very different experiences. The first stay was fine. The room was nothing special - it's a budget hotel - but the staff was pleasant, and the management was actively working on the place. On our second stay the room had more amenities (kitchenette) but the room was in much worse condition. There was dried up soup on the TV stand/dresser, and the table needed a good cleaning, too. The curtain rod was only attached at one end. The toilet seat was barely attached and the flush lever wasn't attached at all. The bathroom door wouldn't close unless shoved hard. The carpet was dirty and sticky. The ceiling fan was missing a pull chain and couldn't be turned on. The cook top needed to be cleaned or replaced. The front desk attendant didn't even apologize when I asked for a new washcloth after I explained the first one was used to clean up the previous guests' mess. The best part both times was the breakfast - waffle maker, strawberry sauce and syrup, hot biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, pastries, yogurt, cereal, etc. There is a nice area outside for the smokers in the shade with benches. The location is very close to the Old Chain of Rocks (pedestrian and bicyclist) Bridge, which has a nice Route 66 display. It was a good location to start our bike ride to the Arch in downtown St. Louis, and to visit Cahokia Mounds.

Everything is old and outdated. The bedsheet is worn down to as thin as paper and you can almost see through it. Window air conditioner is dirty and noisy. Weekend night is like $120+. Used to be like $30-40 for such type of room. The only good thing is that it is at the entrance of Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. It's nice to have a walk at night.

Hotel room was nice, bathroom wasn't great (wall was unpainted and look like it was falling apart. The area seemed kinda run down, didn't feel safe outside. The lobby was pretty dirty and the smell wasn't pleasant in the lobby.
