Home Care Assistance came to our rescue with some fairly urgent needs when my fathers health was failing. Julie came out for an evaluation the very next day after my call. After consulting with me regarding our needs, a plan was put in place with accuracy, thoroughness and genuine care! Unfortunately my father only lived for a short time but the caregivers that were assigned to him were knowledgeable, efficient and very compassionate. I slept well at night knowing that in the room next to mine, my dad was being well cared for!!!

We could see our Dad declining and not able to care for himself. He was on the waiting list for assisted living, but until his turn came up, we needed help. We met with the Care Manager, Laura, right away and several days later, the caregivers were able to start. Their presence with our Dad gave us the peace of mind that we needed. They made sure he was dressed, shaved, and helped him down to breakfast and lunch, plus helped him get his prefilled medications on time. They also helped with his laundry, the shower, and cleaned up. When we got there later in the day, he was safe and sound and his apartment was neat and clean. We are so grateful for all the help Home Care Assistance was able to provide!

The Care Manager at Home Care Assistance of Omaha has been tremendously helpful in bringing my mom home from the hospital. The caregivers have allowed us to provide the level of care required for her to spend this valuable time in the comfort of her home. We are thankful they are here at our time of need!

I have been with Home Care Assistance in Omaha for 1 yr. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the people and have felt more at home and appreciated than any other home care company I have been with. Prior to Home Care Assistance of Omaha I was employed with Home Care Assistance in Southern California. I was super excited to find out there was one in my hometown and I am glad I took a chance on them. Each one of HCA’s employees have been amazing to work with. I have learned so much and excited to see where it takes me within the company in the future.

If you value safety, security, and reliability, yes. A quality home care agency is insured and also manages the performance and scheduling of its caregivers, handles billing and payrol, and has back-up caregivers to fill in when needed. With a private hire caregiver, you’re responsible for setting up payroll and withholding taxes, caregiver vetting and background checks, and purchasing sufficient liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries in the home.
We follow infection mitigation best practices and safety protocols, informed by the CDC and local authorities, and provide appropriate PPE to our caregivers. The majority of our caregivers and Care Team members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Home care is typically billed by the hour, so the cost depends on the number of care hours per week and can vary slightly by region. Most families pay out-of-pocket for their care or use long-term care insurance.
The best caregiver is an experienced professional who has the training and skills to support your loved one’s care needs. It’s also imporatnt to find a caregiver who’s extremely reliable, has back-up if necessary, and is a good fit in terms of personality and shared interests.
Home care is a supportive service provided by a professional caregiver in the home or community where a resident lives (in addition to facility supports) for peace of mind, companionship, and personal care. Caregivers can perform tasks such as running errands, preparing meals, assisting in the shower, fall prevention, and initiating brain stimulation activities to stimulate cognitive function.
