Kuma's does a great job maintaining a strict one person in the building to pick up at a time policy. Inside the door they have it blocked off to keep distance between the employees and the pick up people. They have multiple hot boxes to keep good warm for pick up. They also have heated outdoor tent seating for single parties, but I'm not familiar with how that is conducted.

It really depends on the day. I've never had to wait for a seat. Food wait times are what you would expect from a burger joint.
Your son probably wouldn't care about the noise, but I agree, you should bring some kind of ear protection.
