Incredible experience in the middle of nature

This is a beautiful campground that is kept very clean. The reason I gave this two stars is that the campground hostess this season is extremely unpleasant and rude and will yell at you for the slightest infraction. Oh, if you have bully breed dogs, camp elsewhere. If you have any other type of dog, don't worry.

We enjoyed a lovely day at Lake Alpine! The water was refreshing, it wasn't too crowded even on a summer Saturday, and the facilities provided by the Lodge made a big difference. The other local lakes/reservoirs are terrific options, too, but if you welcome a boat rental or a hot meal then Lake Alpine is the place to be. Highly recommended as a day trip from the Arnold area, and kid friendly beach areas.

Aah Ha 👳🏾♂️, Beautiful scenery, Fresh Air, Hiking my wife and I were really not prepared, Fish were jumping, got lots of bites, Weather was nice until the clouds and Thunder rained on our Sunlight. The stars were bright, with no moonlight, it gets dark so bring a flashlight. Birds were chirping, woodpeckers were pecking, Life is an Adventure, Aah Ha, More I will be taking...Aah Ha, Adventures Always Have Happy Affects

Yes--No hookups and larger rigs could have a problem. But there are definitely trailers here.
Go to recreation.gov and search Lake Alpine West Shore. All reservations are booked through this system.
Try Recreation.gov
The bears like to come into camp
No, cash only for camp sties.
Generally... Not likely! However, there is a few campsites that are based on First-Come-First-Serve. There a few of these on Alpine Campground right before you reach the lake on your right.. If I remember correctly, sites 19, 20, 21, 22 are FCFS. Good luck!
During the week very good. You can also go on the website (recreation.com) and reserve and pay for the site online
Not on the camp grounds but just up the street there is a general store/restaurant and they have coin operated showers. Mind you there are 3 small stalls in each M/F room so if a group stops by you may need to wait. To get to them you follow the road from the parking lot up through the cabins.
Checkout is 2 pm but usually people leave earlier. Keep in mind the campgrounds sometimes don't open until late June due to snow. The 2 loops located at the east side were still closed last month. Get there before 2 pm specially on a Friday to get a decent site.
https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/stanislaus/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=21866&actid=29 hopefully takes you to the NFS website for the campground. Currently says no water, sites opening as snow is removed.
Depends on snow level. Probably won't open until June this year.
yes there is. right next door from the general store. is pretty go
There is a resturant right next to the giftshop, or there is a small area right before you get to the bear valley ski resort on the left hand side of the road.
They allow them but there is not too many sites you could pull into. All lake alpine lodge they are the concessionaires
