Love this park! Especially the covered playground!

Beautiful park with accessible parking. Nice hiking/running/walking trails with excellent shading. Tennis courts nearby. Bathrooms, with family restrooms and changing areas right next to the park. Lots of shaded seating available. Splash pad area is fun for kids of all ages.

The playground is much improved by the recent addition of the new shade sails, although the slides and surfaces can still be burning hot on sunny days, so be sure to remind children to use caution. The splash pad itself is one of the best in the city, full of interesting water features, fountains, dumping buckets, sprayers, and watercannons. The splash pad allows for good play from infants through young teens. The splash pad itself is not shaded, so be sure to apply sunscreen frequently and thoroughly, especially in the summer. The maintenance crews occasionally return off the splash pad as early as 4:30 pm, sometimes later, and there seems no clear or posted schedule. Also, the splash pad is often off for maintenance; call BREC or check their Facebook page to confirm whether or is running.

My son had a great time. He kept going back and forth from the water park area to the slide. Stimulated his mind alot

Splash pads were open March 12-October 31 last year, and I suspect they will be open similar dates this year. The aquatics web page has not been updated yet with new information, but can be found at www.brec.org/index.cfm/page/2665/n/43 or more simply Google for "BREC aquatics".
