After reading the reviews I believe this hospital is not giving proper care to people of color. My daughter and I went here at 1pm Sunday. We didn’t get seen until 2:30 (4 white families that came in after us went in first) & two black families were in front of us. They called all of us at the same time. (I’ve never seen that done before) we were all placed in rooms next to eachother. It then took them 30 mins to come see about my daughter, when the doctor came in he just checked her breathing looked in her ears in her eyes and asked me what had been going on we talked for about five minutes and he exited the room, 30 minutes later another nurse came in and she tested my daughter for Covid strep and flu. and that was it, they told me after an hour that she didn’t have any of those three things and it appear to just be some type of viral infection and I should just take her home and give her alternating pain medicines. My daughter has been in pain ever since and I am returning to the hospital today I refuse to leave until I am serviced the way that we are supposed to be serviced.

If I could give ZERO stars.... I would. The ER is a JOKE. I took my daughter a little after midnight and to call it unprofessional and uncomfortable is an understatement. There was a resident trying to triage in the middle of the lobby. He also would start randomly singing Fall Out Boy as loud as he could. When a group of individuals walked past where he was sitting, he made fun of their smell and started spraying hand sanitizer. The whole waiting room also knew how much he hated crawfish, because he would nonstop complain about his co-worker eating her food. Let's talk about their triage... Their tech tried to get BP on my daughter twice, one on each leg. After it was DANGEROUSLY LOW, we were still the last OUT OF THE ENTIRE AND LOBBY AND THOSE WHO CAME IN AFTER US, to be seen. When I reported this to the house supervisor, she had them correctly take a BP on my daughter where it was finally a semi-normal reading. In the room we found a sharp piece of metal just laying under the chairs. I won't talk about how neglectful the ER doctor was (and even the resident who worked for him had a better plan of care), because that would be putting my daughter's business out there. But I definitely will never trust in their care EVER AGAIN. If you like your kids, choose Oschner.

Trying to speak to someone in Admin and set an appointment for my child is literally just about IMPOSSIBLE. I have to go to the ER just for my child to be seen for the simplest of things .

Our experience at this hospital has been absolutely amazing. Dr. Binck, nurse Brandi, and charge nurse Mikah are just a name a few because their names were written on the board. But every person in PICU and the ER on September 13 -15 are absolutely amazing. I’m sorry I don’t remember all your names. But your name that found my son some brownies, thank you. He remembers you the most. Thank you all for everything that you did for me and my son while we were there.
