I’ve grown-up in broadmoor all my life. Always knowing it was the place where I knew I would get married - among my second family members. When that day became a reality, February 12,2022, it truly took a village to get me through it. Bobby and Kelli Rayburn, Katy Stark, Bernadette Fitzpatrick, James Gilley, Alyssa and Ashtyn Henderson, Nita Hannie, Randy Trahan and SO MANY MORE made my wedding day happen. From consoling me moments before to laughing and dancing with me after. It was a day so wonderful and glorious I couldn’t imagine spending it anywhere else. Bobby’s words touched our hearts, and he Printed out what he wrote so we can frame it and remember the promise of marriage we made to one another. Kelli coordinated a bunch of twenty-something’s…need I say more? Katy coordinated and created the most breathtaking flowers and decor I could have ever imagined. Bernadette lended her talents and played gorgeous organ that was so personable. And of course James, who watched from above ensuring the sound system was to perfection. Alyssa and Nita recited readings and gospel beautifully. And Ashtyn and Randy played and sang the Wedding Song - which was also sung at my parents wedding by their friends. I told you - a whole village made this happen. My husband and I are forever tied to Broadmoor, even if we live hundreds of miles away. Thank you to everyone in this community who has touched my life and helped me grow into this new chapter.
