Take Paws asked for our entire family history, and made us go through an invasive application process all just to deny our application, because my girlfriend had a family pet when she was a minor that died when she was living at home. The dog was under the care of her parents for its ENTIRE LIFE . its no wonder these shelters are over flowing with animals. This is a horrible organization!

@TakePawsRescue this is a very bad organization that blocks users who wish to help animals that are posted. I will be posting more reviews and sharing my experiences with this horrible organization that is hostile and harassing online who also participates in online bullying and blocking of their donators. All users were promoted to be aggressive and to cyber attack. This organization is not run by good people. Do not donate here.

Five Stars just isn't enough for Take Paws Rescue! My fiancé and I were called in to rescue a very malnourished Pitbull who was running the streets of the Bywater. This black and white bully would immediately steal our hearts and his crystal blue eye won him the name of Frank.(for obvious reasons) After brining him home to our foster room, we spent the next four months putting healthy weight on him, getting him vaccinated and introducing him to the members of our pack we could so he could have the best chance possible of being adopted. When the time came for me to need that support in doing so, I knew I would need the help of a rescue. I knew who I needed to turn to, and I turned to Take Paws Rescue. They let me tell my story and asked to see pictures so they could share with the great reach they held. And it worked. Abby sent Terry over to my home to microchip Frank and set a foster up for him to stay with during the process of looking for his forever family. My fiancé and I have been rescuing for fifteen years between the two of us and know how lucky we are to have found a rescue like Take Paws. We won't ever be able to thank them enough for helping our sweet boy Frank!!

Such a rip off. They have stolen property and refuse to return it without the rightful owner paying a ridiculous fee

Questions & Answers

Has anyone out of state adopted from this Rescue organization while communicating only with the foster lady? I need to make sure this is legit adoption.

They are definitely legit. They operate The Stray Cafe on Banks St. I've been there. They're very good people and even follow up with you.

We are not an open intake shelter. Take Paws is a nonprofit rescue organization. If you have a pet that you’d like to surrender to us, we have a surrender form on our website. However, we are limited by open foster homes and space at our small facility, and take requests on a case by case basis.
