Prime Care provided in home care and services to a relative for more than 7 years, ultimately 24/7. I live far away and she needed a service that would be responsible and constant as no one was in town to act on an emergency, or fill in. The agency is a smaller private service and I believe that we received more personalized service and attention and continuity of case management. For most of the time there were two main aides providing the bulk of service hours and who my relative trusted and appreciated and they both exceeded many expectations while providing great care. That many hours a week can pose scheduling and staffing challenges but any time that occurred Prime Care was proactive in insuring coverage, with no gaps in care. Occasionally there were aides who were not a good fit with my relative. That is going to happen and I will admit that at times it was rocky. However the Prime Care administrators were very hands on in finding solutions and the primary aides sometimes worked extra shifts to provide stability in the household during those times. The aides and the administration were very intentional and mindful re: Covid and proposed alternative schedules to reduce exposure. The office has 24/7 coverage and I had to communicate on weekends and late at night at times due to an urgent health situation. The late/off hour contact was easy to reach and talk to and was always helpful in dealing with whatever the problem was. They have staff with nursing credentials and were very very helpful in understanding different conditions and treatments as they arose. Prime Care had originally been referred to me by a hospital social worker when my relative was being discharged and I will forever appreciate finding them to care for her.

Their office in Manhattan is not welcoming at all. They had me come into their office and turn me away over something that they could have told me over the phone. Word of advice, ask people how many years of experience that they have before you have them come in and do applications just to turn them away. Their staff is also not friendly at all. They should consider hiring a new receptionist because the one that they have has terrible communication skills.
