This past weekend was my 3rd time sailing with Captain Pete. I organized a trip for 6 of us and as usual, Captain Pete did not disappoint! His first mate, Jonah, was EXCEPTIONAL as well! Captain Pete kept us on the fish all morning, and Jonah kept the rods ready and in the water, couldn't ask for anything more! The captain's commentary from the fly bridge adds some laughs to the trip as well! Unless forced to, I will definitely not be fishing on another boat in the sound any time soon! Great fishing, great times and great people!

You don't get 4.9 stars by accident! Captain Pete was easy to work with, had great communication, and was enthusiastic on the water. It's obviously genuinely enjoys what he's doing. Sean the first mate, was attentive helpful. He made sure everyone knew what they were doing and communicated very well. Not to mention we all caught a ton of fish! Will definitely go out on the Sea Sprite again!

For over 18 years I enjoyed repeated spectacular fishing trips on Sea Sprite with Capt. Pete so much that from original once a year great striper fishing to 4 trips this year. From original one striped bass trip in summer to include a more challenging late fall trip for the (delicious but vicious) Tautog trips. Few years later we added a third annual, a mid summer trip for tasty Black Sea bass and some striper fun. This summer I invited my daughter and her friends for a trip where they also became “hooked” by exciting, day of action fishing provided by Captain Pete and his awesome mate Jonah. Now I am anxiously awaiting a fourth trip with old friends for our annual fall Tautog battles. Not only ARE the tastiest fish but also most challenging to land as they can literally bring you to your knees, trying to lift them out of their dives into rock piles to try & snag their freedom. I’ve fished salt water for over 55 years but none as productive and as much fun as with Captain Pete Wheeler and his mates. Just the best fishing always.
