What a solidly Catholic community! While visiting family my wife and I attended Mass here this past Sunday. Confessions are conveniently available before Mass. I hope this small parish grows.

Delightful place. Small but clearly a wonderful community

Visited this parish back in August of 2019 since Eastern Catholic churches are often hard to find. The congregation sang beautifully from beginning to end and the priest gave a healthy homily on obedience and not letting anger overcome us. The parish also employed the other smells and bells which Eastern Catholics are known to use, and for good reason. The trad in me definitely appreciated that. My Pentecostal aunt and bapticostal mother also visited with me, and I think they kinda got blown away by the constant invoking of the Blessed Trinity and the general attitude that everyone was there to worship God in the fullness of the Christian faith. If I lived in the Raleigh area, this would be my home parish.

The Priest is married. He lives near Cary, in Garner. The liturgy is in English.
There are two Eastern Catholic communities meeting here. One is a mission--St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic-- and the other is a Byzantine/Ruthenian- Sts. Cyril & Methodius. C&M lost their priest a while back and the Bishop in Passaic, NJ has not yet replaced him. In the meanwhile C&M is served by Rev. Fr. Mark Shuey, the priest and administrator of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Mission of Raleigh (as well as a number of other Ukrainian Catholic missions across several states in the Southeast). The Bishop for St. Nicholas resides in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Parma, OH, (St. Josephat's). The St. Nicholas mission in Raleigh is tiny by comparison to larger C&M. St. Nicholas mission was formed after Fr. Mark's ordination by the Ukrainian Catholic Bishop. The St. Nicholas liturgy has been held on Saturday evening; C&M on Sunday morning. Both are English language liturgies; music differs somewhat. More info for Fr. Mark is on the web at www.stnicholasraleigh.org.
Maybe about 60 to 70 people. Liturgy is at 10 am on Sunday and you can join us after for lunch. Slava Isusu Christu!
