When you visit a location with more than 6,000 reviews, you anticipate a positive encounter. However, I thought the brisket and ribs were only fair. The brisket was. It served hot enough. The ribs weren't juicy and marinated well. The cook may not have had a good night!

I wouldn't say it was authentic... It didn't taste like BBQ should taste. Everything was drenched in their special sauce, which is very tangy in flavor. We sat in the bar area and no one came to our table for a long time. When we were done, again, no one came to our table. Even after I gathered all the plates to one side, nothing. I can just say that it was ok.

Best BBQ in Raleigh.

My local Raleigh friend and fellow REALTOR Bobby Carroll shared some really great BBQ with his good old fashion Southern Hospitality. I was in Raleigh to support Willie Nelson’s FarmAid which helps small farmers. I highly recommend The Pit!

Absolutely. Please call or email for reservations.
We parked in the public parking lot across the street but you have to pay for parking.
It's reservation only and they are really good about social distancing tables! They have a mandatory mask policy and only allowed to take them off when you are seated at the table. They also have pick up you can order online or call in.
They are part of Empire Eats. Order gift cards at https://empire-eats.myshopify.com/
