I was an employee at BE shoes for 4 years. I worked very hard during my time there and took my job very seriously. My husband and I found out we were expecting in November of 2021. From the we found out we were expecting until I was 6 months pregnant ( that’s when I was terminated from BE shoes), I received awful discrimination from the owner, Bill Erickson. At BE shoes, it is frowned upon to take lunch breaks in general. When I progressed in my pregnancy, I developed sciatica. There were days I could barely walk I was in so much pain. I still continued to work, but needed to sit down at times especially during 8 to 9 hour shifts. When the owner would catch me sitting, I was ridiculed in front of customers and staff, and called “lazy.” Whenever I would need to eat, the owner would mock me and comment on how much I ate. I have never received this kind of discrimination and hate from an employer in my life. After I put my notice in, the owner tried to make me sign a document that stated my “infractions”. Because the document was not the truth, I would not sign it. The owner stated I either sign the document or can not return. I want the public to be aware of this. The owner does a great job of painting a picture that BE shoes is a great place to work, but behind closed doors his employees are subject to his mood swings and harsh temper.

My favorite shoe store with the best quality shoes in the area! Staff are helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I never feel pressured to buy, either. If the color shoe I want is not in stock, staff pull out a catalog, help me find what I want, place my order and I'm notified as soon as it arrives so I can pick it up (or it can be delivered to my home). My daughter is a teacher whose on her feet A Lot. The teachers' sale just before school begins is So Appreciated. Thank you, Be Shoes!

Be Shoes has a selection of shoes that are top quality and styles that are very attractive. I have shopped there often and purchased their shoes. Today however was an experience that I found disappointing regarding their sales personnel. After entering the store, I was not greeted, by three sales personnel and the owner. I was the only person in the store at the time and spent a quiet time walking around the entire store as they stood at the sales counter talking amongst themselves. Note: It is a small space so a customer can not be overlooked. The owner did say, so you need for us to pick it a shoe for you? I stated I would continue to look. I asked about two styles neither available in different colors or in stock. Thank you, I’m done.
