My husband and I tried to walk in to have a cocktail at the bar. Was told that there were reservations for the bar. (There was one couple there.) we spoke to the second hostess about seats- and the first told her no- shaking her head aggressively. The second hostess said sorry. Reservation only. I’m pretty certain they didn’t like our looks as I went online and there were tons of reservations available for the bar. Glad I didn’t waste my money.

Be careful dealing with them. I recently made a reservation for Hege's using Resy, earlier that day, had to cancel it. Provided 3 hour notice prior to seating. They even thanked me for notifying them. Later that evening, my CC was charged $125 by Hege's. Contacted Richard Hege and he indicated it's their policy, I was aware of it thru RESY, so too bad. Cancellations within 24 hours are NOT permitted. So long Hege's, there many other fine dining options on the Island. Total inflexibility in regard to their reservation policy.

The food was excellent, and Aaron, our server, was outstanding. This is one of our favorite restaurants at Kiawah, and we will definitely be back!

Suffers from velvet rope syndrome. My guest and I came to the restaurant to dine. We were casually but smartly dressed. When we came in the hostes said "I am guessing you don't have a reservation" and having just arrived for our stay. The restaurant was nearly empty. We were instructed there was no table to be available for us. We asked to sit at the bar. There was a bit of a snicker and we were told the bar was reserved. There were two people at the bar. So if you are looking for a restaurant that is snotty, rude and exclusive to the point of discriminatory, then this is your place. This was on a Thursday evening at approximately 6pm.

They have private spaces available, otherwise if you call ahead they will set stuff up for you and also consider whatever else is happening
I don't believe so, but they have outdoor seating so you can always call and ask if pets are allowed on the patio.
Yes, sometimes. Depends on the day!
Resort casual to upscale depending on the meal/time of day. Great place for brunch.
