Terrible communication. Having an existing residential gas line restarted - sounded like a very simple process based on conversations with the person who scheduled our service. However, once the technician came out there were extra steps that were not previously communicated. We ended up not having hot water for ~week due to the extra steps to verify. Communication needs to be improved - extremely poor experience.

Piedmont Natural Gas employee came on property without notifying us. Started barking orders and refused to identify himself. I tried to get license number but he left before I could write it down. Have a little respect for your neighbors Piedmont Natural Gas. Let us know what’s going on and knock on the door before you start your job. We may thank you for coming over and give you a bottle of water.

Don't know the answer to that but Duke Energy owns Piedmont Natural gas
A vented fireplace is like using a regular fire place. Your heat and money go up the chimney. Mostly for looks. Gas gireplaces are not cheap but you are heating an area of instead of a house. Unvented is much more efficient.
