These folks take really good care of their animals. I can tell they all love them. We have adopted several cats from them over the years. A wonderful shelter! They are always taking donations both monetary and food, toys, leashes anything. Always adopt! Never buy!

Cornelius animal shelter is a no-kill shelter.
Animal shelters do need help. They do restrict who they can allow to volunteer. Training is provided. Keep in mind that all shelters, rescues and clinics need volunteers. Private rescues would not operate the same way. All information is on their website and the duties vary.
You will need to contact the shelter.
They have all sizes
Puppies are always available at a local shelter whether it be this one or another one. Just look online to see what they have. Puppies have to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to taking them home. The shelters have the clinics to provide the services.
Never ask timely important questions on Google. All business related questions must be answered by the staff.
