We strongly recommend this company. Their prices are slightly higher than others, but the quality of their work is well worth it. We have nothing but good things to say about their workmanship and follow-up service. Wish everyone did business like this.

These guys are trustworthy, knowledgeable, thorough, dependable, courteous and efficient. Moreover, they maintain the full integrity not to do more harm so as to charge you more --which seems to be what we kept running into BEFORE finding Broom to take care of our home systems. Broom accurately diagnosed even the most complicated and inconspicuous issues that I had several other vendors come assess and had overlooked. Nice to have one company do it all now. These are my go-to guys for changing, buying, installing, maintaining my gas fireplace logs and HVAC/gas pack systems. They don't take shortcuts, they don't overcharge and they keep the systems running tip top.

My homeowner scheduled a maintenance call with this company on a Friday. They came out to the home and said everything was ok. Friday midnight my air stops working. Saturday its 90 degrees inside my residence which is brick so it was very hot. I called the company back they sent someone to check the issue out. The unit was leaking refrigerant, and wouldnt stay on. The technician told me to cut the unit off because it would run up my light bill cutting on and off consistently. He also said he had to order a part and didnt give an eta for arrival. I purchased a hotel room from that Sunday and Monday for my family which consist of four kids with the youngest being 1. A different technician came Monday about 2:30ish. I sat outside with him for about hour and half. While repairing the unit it started to rain but i thought none of it because he continued to work. I offered him water and helped what little I could. After the technician insinuated that he had fixed the problem I told him I was going in to get some rest because I work 3rd shift. The homeowner came to check on the repair and woke me up, it had been a hour later. The technician was still outside so I thought that was strange because he insinuated he was done. After speaking with the technician he kept mentioning something about the motherboard, so I stayed awake and sat on my front porch because I'm thinking he's got to come back inside. After a while I see him loading up the truck and he looks at me while on the phone and leaves without saying anything. I called the homeowner and asked was he suppose to come back with a part because the thermostat inside wasnt working. The technician lied and said that he wasnt able to come inside because I wouldnt open door. That was the first hint of somethings not right because I was sitting on the front porch. I didnt find out to later that he had gotten the motherboard wet while repairing and never said anything about it. Next day the homeowner calls the business to get some answers about situation and they say the technician will be out at 1:00pm. The technician didnt come to 4:30ish. Also the business president Kevin Williamson told the homeowner that I was stupid for buying a hotel room for my family. I never spoke to Kevin for him to call me out of my name. I offered the upmost respect anytime I talked with either a technician or any administration. But Kevin took it upon himself to call me out my name after this long hot weekend me and my family had to deal with because of the constant mistakes of his technicians. Now i lost money on hotel room fees and electric bill for the unit continuously cutting on and off Friday and Saturday. This whole situation was unprofessional, the communication was unprofessional, and for him to call me out my name was unproffesional (Kevin Williamson)!!!!!

Questions & Answers

Is is normal to smell a dusty burning smell when you first turn on your heat after the summer ?

Broom Heating & Air Conditioning | Sep 29, 2020
Broom Heating & Air Conditioning | Sep 29, 2020

Yes. Dust collects on the heat strips or heat exchanger during the summer. The first few times your heat comes on it will cause this dust to get very hot and smell like it is burning. Most of the times it goes away in a few minutes. It should not be bad enough to see smoke or have your smoke detectors go off, but there is usually a slight burning smell for a few minutes. If in doubt, feel free to call us and we can talk to you about it.
