It works for guys that really want to live sober, the place doesn't get a man Clean, but the structure is outstanding and the jobs are top notch ✌️

This is the first lesson I got at Turning Point. Step 1: As a result of the Illness of the Body I can't use. But as the result of the Illness of the Mind I can't quit. I'm darned if I do use and I'm darned if I don't. It is a no win, lose/lose, hopeless scenario. You can not think it away. You can not pray it away with just prayer by itself. Prayer without action is meaningless. It can not be reasoned with or bargained with. If you have the disease of addiction it's not going away, ever. This is the hopeless truth. In the textbook of Alcoholics Anonymous the word hopeless or hopelessness is used 29 times in the first 103 pages of the book. The word doomed is used 3 times. And until we accept this devastating weakness there can be no hope of recovery. It will just be continued chaos, drama, and eventual using and drinking.

Now I'm not an alumni of the Hazelden primary program. However I am an alumni of Turning Point. 5 years ago I was suffering from what some of us call the symptoms of untreated alcoholism. I had become complacent in my program and I had began to let up on the spiritual program of action. And to paraphrase the text is says 'It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do. For alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contigent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.' So I had let up on that process and I became very spiritually sick again in sobriety. And I didn't know what the problem was. I was going to three meetings a day. Let me tell you something, meetings are wonderful and I have to attend them and they go along with my sobriety program. But meetings alone are not going to treat the disease of addiction. My sponsor knew a man who knew a guy who knew about Turning Point. And he says, "Steve we decided you're going up to Greenville." And I said I ain't going to Greenville. It's cold up there. And he said, "Well you can get a new sponsor." He was serious. Man, that bothered me. I'll tell you how sick I was. I had a third edition big book that was all underlined. I wanted everybody to see that thing underlined. I walk into the meeting "Yeah I'm Big book man." I'm dying of untreated alcoholism but I'm Big book man. My sponsor says "Buy a fourth edition big book and take it out there." I said it's not underlined they won't think I'm studying the big book. That's sick ain't it? I'm dying of untreated alcoholism and I'm worried about what ya'll think about my underlined big book. And those people out there at Turning Point helped me get on the spiritual path with some serious enrichment and education about this program.

Turning point is a great place in a wonderful program if you want it to be and if you allow it to be. when I arrived at turning point I didn't even have a toothbrush to my name and this week I'll be leaving here not only a renewed man mentally but spiritually and physically I'm now leaving with a vehicle of my own to a home of my own, as a brand new man to my wife and my son and the rest of my family. thanks to turning point and God I want to thank Rob, Don, Mike and everybody at the program for giving guys like me another chance and the ability to learn how to do it the right way. again I would suggest turning point to anybody that truly wants to change and is willing to take the steps to do so. thanks guys! Remember to surrender, submit and serve its that easy.

There is a commissary, and regular shopping trips. Residents have facilities to cook their own food. A food bank is maintained for newcomers. Nobody ever goes hungry.
You can put in for passes after 2 week probation period and all fees are paid
It up 2 the person himself how bad he wants it I have friends that went through the program and that are still clean today some 2. Years some 5 years clean we take it one day at a time
Nope
We have a mens and woman’s program. Yes.
Yes visits are sat and sun 12 to 5 after you been here 2 weeks
After you get to a certain phase you can have a vehicle at TP. In the beginning they provide all your transportation in order to keep you safe and out of certain situations that would cause you to fail.
If they qualify for the program they will.
Yes
The cost is $175 a week, with a $250 processing fee and the residents are expected, as part of their recovery, to pay their own way, learning responsibility and to not be a financial burden on their family, friends or taxpayers. The resident will most likely have a job the day they arrive. There are arrangements with several employment agencies. The residents keep enough money for food and personal expenses regardless of how much (or little) they make the first few weeks. If they come in with nothing, there is a food bank and personal supplies for no charge. Most residents make enough to be zero-balanced in three weeks or so, and from then on pay just the weekly fee. The Turning Point works closely with both Federal and State probation agents.
Yes, they can under certain circumstances and provisions. Each situation has to be addressed individually. They can call and speak to the intake manager.
When you get here they give you a job so that you can by food to cook. But if your brand new they will get you a few things out the food pantry. There is a store on-site that sales hotdogs hamburgers pulled pork and about anything you would need
You can get in with no money, how ever you will be charged a entry fee and the first week rent.
yes, the Turning Point accepts residents from anywhere in the US.
