This is by far my favorite campground of ALL time. It is rustic, but with being so connected, being at a place so disconnected is just the thing we all need from time to time. I have been going to this campground on and off for over 40 years, back when it was free to stay overnight. As the years progressed, it was $5/night, then $10, then $15, then $15 plus a pass. Even when partial hookup sites are $15-$20/night elsewhere, I would still stay here as my first, second and third choice. In the summer, the days are warm, nights cool and you can hear the wind rustle through the pine needles. At times with a norther wind, you can sometimes hear the waves crash from nearby Lake Superior. In autumn, the air is crisp and the changing colors are just breathtaking. At night it's pitch black where you can barely see your hand in front of your face and the stars are so close you can feel you can reach up and touch one. The lake is suppose to be stocked with fish, but over they many years, we just caught a few panfish. The lake view, which is usually calm, looks like glass where you'd have to look very closely at any pictures you've taken where the lake starts and the mirror image of the trees and sky begin. I have been to roughly 34 of the 50 states and roughly 4 Canadian provinces, and I ALWAYS look forward to a trip to Kingston Lake. Simply put, it's just my happy place and over the years we've met dozens of folks and built countless memories and recall decades of stories of times we've spent here.

Great place off a smaller lake. Dogs and baby loved it. First come first serve. Filled up fast after 3pm even on a Tuesday. 15$ a night. No cell service. Will definitely come again!

Very nice campground. Lots to explore on the lake with canoe or kayak. Also access to nice hiking trail too

Wonderful rustic campground. Even on a busy July weekend I was able to find a spot.

Wood is sold from road side stands by numerous people in the area. Most are self service and cash only. Generally 5 to 8 dollars for a good sized bundle.
This location is first come first serve. There are other sites to reserve in the Pictured Rocks region though.
