Beautiful very clean and so much history in this cemetery. Only gripe I have is every time I go to vist family my flowers are gone real or fake in season colors ect. I do not understand why they are being removed and dumped in there yard. They should focus on cleaning all the moss or geese droppins on the headstones instead of removing good flowers we pay a lot of money for them.

I recently interred my deceased sister here in their mausoleum. The cemetery contains prestigious historical figures PT Barnum and Gen Tom Thumb. There are also a lot of Beardsleys here, a family that has been prominent in the history of Bridgeport. Old-style large monuments abound. The area around the mausoleum is well kept, and there is a fountain in the center of the area. There is actually a family crypt for "Fountain" right by the fountain. I thought the Fountain Family might have donated it, but it turns out that is just a coincidence. The person I talked to in the office said he wasn't aware of it and that he had never heard anyone else mention it, but it is right there just above the fountain as you look at it from the front: "FOUNTAIN" on the largest crypt. There is also a tombstone nearby with the name "Lundberg" printed very large on it. That gives me some light pleasure every time I go visit her tomb--people who read my reviews regularly understand ;). The cemetery is old and heavily wooded, and Ash Creek runs along the western and southern borders. One of the most important consumer considerations is of course price. I can tell you that compared to Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, where our parents are laid to rest, this quite beautiful and pleasant cemetery is less than 1/3 the price. My parents provided for their own interment and I could not afford to place my sister there, but I am glad to come see her where she is. Have to give it to MGC for being an excellent value. And the fountain area is a very soothing peaceful place, comparable to being on the "Willow Brook" that my parents' tomb is blessedly right beside.

Mt. Grove cemetery is presented as a beautiful and historic place to lay your loved ones to rest. Ever since we laid my sister to rest here there has been multiple issues not just with our family but with other families as well. Employees Liz and Matt take orders from the super attendant sandy/al who no one could ever get a hold of, I wonder why. Every time it’s the same excuse “rules and regulations”. They removed several items we placed at my little sisters grave site which are not out of the “rules and regulations” and placed it in the “holding area” which is by the dumpsters. I believe it’s inhuman what they do to families grieving after losing someone. Makes my heart ache knowing my little sis is not resting in peace because I know no one would want to go through this.

My family and I regret 100% burying my sister at this cemetery...this people have no type of feelings they remove things that represent sentimental feelings for us and just go through it in the dumpster without letting you know...100% not recomendable

There's an office on site if you enter from North Avenue. They keep regular business hours from what I can tell as a passerby. There may be.more help on their website, mountaingrovecemetery.org. Best of luck finding your family!

Lol. No. It is the most beautiful place. I go there all the time. Many people go there to walk. I do as well. The fountains are beautiful.
