Wow. Truly an incredible experience. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the area, looking rathing unassuming from the road. However it is a shining star of a eatery. The waitress, Mary, was knowledgeable, friendly, and beyond hospitable. The food was reasonably priced and exquisite. I live in Miami and would normally have expected to spend a small fortune for the quality, quantity, and taste of the food we ordered. However it was well priced and truly impressive. They grow their own herbs, have high quality pastry and sous chefs working in the kitchen and an eager passionate wait staff. If you eat one place this year, let it be Yellow Dog Cafe.

Very disappointed. I ordered Shrimp Creole dish. The 5 shrimp seemed to be steamed and not cooked in the creole and the creole "stew"was about 1/8 of an inch on a flat plate, less the 4 ounces for sure and it was bland. The largest morsel was about two corn kernels in size. I was upset that I did not send it back and was further upset that I did not say a word about the bad meal when the owner chef came by our table. I added hot sauce to spice it up. My wife shocked me because she ordered a hamburger. She has never done so for dinner in 50 plus years of marriage. She ordered it RARE and I saw that it was medium at best. She liked it, but I know it was not what she ordered. The service was top notch, the carrot soup and the spinach salad were excellent, but overall, the food did not come close to its reputation. It will take me some time to try it again.

Yellow Dog has fantastic food, views, and staff. I can't believe I waited this long to check it out. I will be back.
