I just wrapped up my 3rd visit to this camp ground. It has always been amazing. I stay in the cabins and they are alway clean upon arrival. The bathhouses are very clean, modern, and air - conditioned! The camp store is well stocked and the employees have always been helpful. I have been home 4 hours and I'm already trying to plan a return trip!

Location to the sound is ideal for water sports like Kite Surfing, wind surfing, kayaking, etc. it has just one bath house. Mens room has three sinks, 3 toilets and one or two showers. For this big of a campground it could use some more bathhouse. They have a rule about kids driving golf carts but it was not enforced. Kids played loudly at 10pm which is rough for a light sleeper nearby so I recommend away from playground for more quiet. The staff were great. Most sites with electric had the round plug (rv plug) and the standard house (110 volt) outlet too. Ours only had the round plug and we brought a tiny camper that only used a regular outlet so I had to purchase that adapter from the camp store. The store has typical camper stuff plus some fishing tackle(limited), no bait. I would recommend this place and possibly try the cabins as they look nice too.

We just stayed at Frisco Woods campground for the first time and had a great week! We were soundfront in site S7 and while getting into the site could have been difficult because of the sand, using four wheel drive helped. Being soundfront for the amazing sunsets was breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store was well stocked. Bathrooms and laundry room were both clean. I’d definitely stay here again, we didn’t want to leave!

The location of our campsite on the water was wonderful! Also, we met friendly campers from the adjoining sites. The check-in process was easy and the host was welcoming and accommodating. The bathhouse and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The only downside was that the shower I used did not have a bench to sit on to change clothes nor did it have a mat to stand on when you got out of the shower. There was only one hook to hang your clothes, towels and a toiletry bag on, also. All in all, however, camping here was a good experience, and I would return to this campground again.

Yes
Afternoons should work... it's the off-season.
No the ferry is at the end of hatteras island and takes you to ocracoke. Frisco woods is well before the end of the island.
You have to call like you are trying to win a contest!! Back to back to back.😂🤣 You can also email them!
If you arrive in the middle of the night you can set up and check in in the morning
There a normally enough room to park 2 cars at each site
No other number. Just really busy especially the Holiday weekend. Just keep trying!
Yes you can bring your dog camping and to beach. Required to have dog on leash and pick up behind your dog.
We used Citronella candles as well....not a real issue, especially closer to the breeze of the sound....Enjoy!
Rates and availability depend on how many you need
Yes most of the sites have Water and Electric the tent sites most of them don't but there are four bathhouses not to but all you have to ask for is a Water and Electric site
Cabins are 85 night right now. For 4 person 95 for 6 person. They do also do weekly rates. Dogs allowed. $10 for ur stay
Gotta call em...and they have last minute cancellations
Persistence. Combination of voicemail, email, and proper alignment of the moon and tides for someone to answer the phone. But persistence pays off... It is a really nice campground.
Booked ou summer trip day before yesterday seemed ok
Either they are actually busy or there is no one there highway 12 is currently under water from a nor'easter just give it time and call again later or in a day or 2 it's pretty crappy luck for the OBX right now
Ask Frisco woods they may work with you...
I've been camping at friscowoods for 22 years and the bathhouse by the pool is air-conditioned and heated the cabins have no heat but you can bring a little small space heater so make sure you bring whatever you need but a great Campground
