The service at this place is great. The dining room service, the food quality and everything around it is the best it can be. The staff and residents makes you feel like you are part of the family. It's one big happy family. Would recommend this place to anyone.

As a visitor, visiting a family member… The receptionist’s aren’t the best. I don’t think anyone wants somebody’s face in their phone and not even look and acknowledge or try to help. It’s rude, do better. Sheila would rather play candy crush and talk smack than do her actual job. Phone restrictions should be a must instead of huffing and puffing doing simple tasks as that is your job.

Island Assisted Living has truly enhanced the quality of my mother’s life for the past five years. Before we found IAL, Mom was very isolated in the house we grew up in, and we worried for her declining health. At IAL, she has received excellent care from dedicated, compassionate staff, and developed healthier relationships with other residents - and our family. At IAL, Mom ate better, took medications regularly, had physical therapy, and got up and around more safely, learning to use a walker. I fondly recall a trip to visit Mom (I’m out of state), bringing my dogs and having a truly pleasant time with her and her new friends outside on the patio and in the community room. My sisters and brother who live locally were able to sleep better knowing that IAL staff was so attentive to Mom’s well-being 24x7, keeping my sister (primary point of contact) informed of any changes. Island Assisted Living has given my Mom an extra “lease on life” at her advanced age! Highly recommend.

Atria, has a few in Nassau and Suffolk. Sunrise assisted living also has locations in both as well. Sometimes nursing rehab centers have long term housing for residents as well. It is not as nice looking as the assisting living places though
