We did this hike in the winter on snow shoes. It was absolutely majestic. It was easy to tell where the trail was, even with fresh snow, because there had been other hikers there before us.

Great morning hike... cool views, peaceful forest not to steep.

Beautiful, well- maintained trail loop. I used this trailhead to access Prater Canyon trail and the extremely steep trek to Prater Mountain. That trail becomes somewhat difficult to follow the farther up you get. You'll want to be in good shape and bring plenty of water as all the springs were dry. Did I mention it's extremely steep?

The valley view trail is a moderate ascent, but quite short and has a wonderful view. We took around an hour to go up and down, but were quite leisurely so you could go faster

8 miles Round the lake on the Jenny Lake trail section. There are many other off shoots you can take to add on more distance.
