As of this writing, the auditorium is used for Mass while the Nave and Transept undergo "structural improvements". Very friendly laity and clergy.

Thank you for your question! The Catholic Diocese of Arlington, led by Bishop Michael Burbidge, serves 21 counties, 70 parishes, six missions and 600,000+ Catholics in Northern Virginia.
The decision is left to each parish. My daughters could be altar servers where we attend mass at St. Ann in Arlington but not where they attended school at St. James in Falls Church
Thank you! May God bless you and yours.
I had to go through the local parish priest, he gave me a copy.
The bishop made the following statement but I'd like to know more details about what we are going to DO as Catholics in the Diocese of Arlington to promote justice and end systemic racism. https://www.arlingtondiocese.org/bishop/public-messages/2020/statement-by-bishop-michael-f--burbidge-regarding-the-death-of-george-floyd/
If you are referring to the BLA, retirement benefits, or anything else in central diocesan records then you would call the main office and speak to the appropriate department(s). If you are talking about parish registration/tithing or parish communications then you would need to call your parish directly.
The commitments the Diocese makes with regard to allegations of sexual abuse and protecting God’s children: -No person in ministry has been credibly accused of sexual abuse -We report EVERY allegation of sexual abuse to legal authorities and fully cooperate with their investigation -Our Review Board, which reviews all available evidence provided by the Diocese and legal authorities with regard to allegations of sexual abuse after law enforcement is notified, is made up of mostly lay volunteers with professional expertise (medical, psychological, legal (civil & canonical), and child abuse) -All staff and volunteers who work with children are screened before they are given access to children or ministries -All staff and volunteers who work with children are trained to identify inappropriate behavior, grooming techniques used by abusers, and how to report suspicious behavior or abuse -Each and every allegation of sexual abuse is taken seriously arlingtondiocese.org/Child-Protection
Hi, Laura! Was this during the Triduum? If yes, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments responded to this question (3/14/03: Prot. N. 569/00/L, ZE05032223): "The practice of the Church has been to empty the Holy Water fonts on the days of the Sacred Triduum in preparation of the blessing of the water at the Easter Vigil, and it corresponds to those days on which the Eucharist is not celebrated (i.e., Good Friday and Holy Saturday)." God bless you!
